Onward to Canyon Country!
Section 5 of the Fall Semesters in the Rockies (FSR-5) recently stopped
through Lander to return the bulk of their climbing gear and re-ration
for their next section in Utah’s exquisite Grand Gulch canyon region.
This all-male group began their semester in September getting their WFA
and followed the three day training by hiking through Wyoming’s Wind
River range. They returned with stories of stunning landscapes and
exciting tales of snowball fights during a particularly precipitous
time they refer to as “The Hoth”. Apparently each bocce ball received
its own name during “Extreme Bocce”, the favorite game during their
third section- Climbing at Red Rocks.
This spirited group looks forward to triumphing the challenges they will face throughout the upcoming canyon section, and will no doubt reveal the thrilling sagas that transpired when they stop back through Lander at the end of the month in preparation for their final section. . . Winter! Hopefully they will enlighten us about another popular game they call “purple nerples”. . . Until then, have fun guys and we know you will. . . Stay tuned for more fall semester adventures.
